We are excited to offer several extra-curricular activities and clubs this Fall. Where registration is limited, enrollment will be on a FCFS basis.
D&D Club: 5th-8th Graders
Group roleplaying and combat. This year is planned to be more open ended and not just Wings of Fire, although that is an option. The first sessions will revolve around creating characters and a campaign. Experience not required, set of dice recommended.

Theatre Club: 4th-8th Graders
Theatre club is a vibrant extracurricular program designed to ignite creativity, build confidence, and foster a love for the performing arts among elementary and junior high students. The club offers a nurturing environment where young talents can flourish. Focusing on skill development, collaboration, and creativity, weekly meetings will include warm-up, skill-building exercises, technical theatre exploration, and rehearsals for upcoming performances. A performance will be chosen by the children from a variety of age-appropriate options, and will be performed for friends and family.
- Tuesdays, 3:45pm-5:00pm – September 10th through December 10th (no meeting November 26th)

First Lego League Explore Team: 2nd & 3rd Graders (THIS CLUB IS FULL!)
FIRST® LEGO® League introduces STEM to children through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program, helping today’s students and teachers build a better future together. FIRST LEGO League’s divisions inspire youth to experiment and grow their critical thinking, coding, and design skills through hands-on STEM learning and robotics. In Explore, teams of students ages focus on the fundamentals of engineering as they explore real-world problems, learn to design, and code and create unique solutions made with LEGO bricks and powered by LEGO® Education SPIKE Essential or WeDo 2.0.
- Wednesdays, 3:45pm-5:00pm – September 11th through December 11th (no meeting November 27th)
- OHMCS Junior High “Trapezoid” Room for snack. Work begins at 4:00pm
- Enrollment Fee: $175 per child, with enrollment limited to 10 students

First Lego League Challenge Team: 4th – 8th Graders (THIS CLUB IS FULL!)
FIRST® LEGO® League introduces STEM to children through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program, helping today’s students and teachers build a better future together. FIRST LEGO League’s divisions inspire youth to experiment and grow their critical thinking, coding, and design skills through hands-on STEM learning and robotics. Friendly competition is at the heart of the Challenge team, as teams of students engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering – building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game. The team will create unique solutions made with LEGO bricks and powered by LEGO® Education SPIKE Prime.
- Thursdays, 3:45pm-5:00pm – September 12th through December 12th, plus an additional day per week will be scheduled in coordination with the team families. Estimated time commitment is approximately 2.5 hrs/wk. This team will also participate in the Hightech Kids MN First Lego League Tournament series, which takes place November – December. (no meeting Nov. 26)

- Enrollment Fee: $250 per student, with enrollment limited to 10 students. Includes a competition team t-shirt

OHMCS Band & Choir
We are excited to once again offer Band & Choir opportunities for the 2024-25 school year. Rehearsals will be once per week, with winter and spring performances. Band will include one group lesson per week during the school day. Parents have the option to register their children for the full year or the fall semester only. OHMCS Band & Choir t-shirts will be provided. More information will come from Crystal directly regarding the exact September start dates.
- Middle School Choir (5th-8th Grade): Wednesdays, 8:00am-8:40am
- Elementary Choir (2nd-4th Grade): Thursdays, 8:00-8:40am
- Band (5th-8th Grade): Fridays, 7:55am-8:40am, with an additional weekly group lesson during the school day

Family Hiking Club: All Ages
An opportunity for families to get together and hike! At least three hikes will be planned throughout the year for families with children of all ages. Hikes will be within the greater metro area, with dates dependent on group availability. Please note that children of any age must be accompanied by an adult.
