D&D Club: 5th-8th Graders

Group roleplaying and combat. This year is planned to be more open ended and not just Wings of Fire, although that is an option. The first sessions will revolve around creating characters and a campaign. Experience not required, set of dice recommended.

Theatre Club: 4th-8th Graders

Theatre club  is a vibrant extracurricular program designed to ignite creativity, build confidence, and foster a love for the performing arts among elementary and junior high students. The club offers a nurturing environment where young talents can flourish.  Focusing on skill development, collaboration, and creativity, weekly meetings will include warm-up, skill-building exercises, technical theatre exploration, and rehearsals for upcoming performances. A short performance piece will be chosen by the children from a variety of age appropriate options, and will be performed for friends-and-family on the evening of April 16th.

  • Tuesdays, 3:45p-5:00pm. February 4th through April 15th, with a short performance tentatively planned for mid-April, with an extra rehearsal or two prior to the performance.
  • OHMCS JH, meet in the JH Trap for snack. Work begins at 4:00pm
  • Enrollment Fee: $75 per child

After School Art Club: 4th-8th Graders

Join us for the After School Art Club, where students in grades 4-8 can express themselves through choice-based art!  Each session (Wed. or Thurs.) is limited to 12 students. Each week, you’ll have the freedom to explore different techniques and mediums—from painting to fiber art to sculpture—while working on projects that inspire you.

  • Wednesdays, 3:45pm-4:45pm or Thursdays, 3:45pm – 4:45pm
  • OHMCS Art Room
  • A total of 12 sessions from the first week in February (5th/6th) and the last session will be the week of May 28/29.
  • The club will NOT meet: Conference week (March 5th/6th), Spring Break (March 26th/27th), In-service Week (April16th/17th), Week of UE’s Widjiwagan/8th grade DC trip (April 23rd/24th), UE Play Week (May 21st/22nd)
  • Enrollment Fee: $80 per student

First Lego League Challenge Team: 4th – 8th Graders 

FIRST® LEGO® League introduces STEM to children through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program, helping today’s students and teachers build a better future together. FIRST LEGO League’s divisions inspire youth to experiment and grow their critical thinking, coding, and design skills through hands-on STEM learning and robotics. The team will create unique robot designs made with LEGO bricks and powered by LEGO® Education SPIKE Prime.
There is no competition in the spring, but children and families are able to attend any of the spring festivals to observe for free.
  • Thursdays, 3:45pm-5:00pm – February 6th through May 29th. No club on 3/6, 4/17, 4/24, or 5/22.
  • OHMCS Junior High “Trapezoid” Room for snack. Work begins at 4:00pm
  • Enrollment Fee: $150 per student, with enrollment limited to 10 students.

OHMCS Band & Choir

Spring Band & Choir starts the week of January 6th! If your child did not participate in the Fall, or they participated but were not signed up for the full year, you may register them at the link below. Rehearsals will be once per week, with winter and spring performances. Band will include one group lesson per week during the school day. An OHMCS Band & Choir t-shirt will be provided.

  • Middle School Choir (5th-8th Grade): Wednesdays, 8:00am-8:40am
  • Elementary Choir (2nd-4th Grade): Thursdays, 8:00-8:40am
  • Band (5th-8th Grade): Fridays, 7:55am-8:40am, with an additional weekly group lesson during the school day
  • Enrollment Fee, Band: $40 per student
  • Enrollment Fee, Choir: $40 per student
