Enrollment Process (Toddler and Pre-K)
1- Schedule a parent tour
We believe the best way to learn about the value of a Montessori education is to experience it in person. We invite all prospective parents to tour our building and spend time observing in our classrooms. As to not disrupt the learning that is occurring in these classrooms, we ask that children not participate in this observation.
Tours can be scheduled by emailing info@ohmcs.org or calling 651-484-8242.
2- Fill out online application and if applicable, submit application for tuition assistance
After your visit, fill out an online application form. Please note that a $52 application fee is required with your application.
If you intend to apply for Tuition Assistance, complete the online Tuition Assistance Application and submit all supporting materials. Families being considered for Tuition Assistance should mark the box on their Online Application notifying the school that a Tuition Assistance Application will be filed.
3- Receive Enrollment Decision from OHMCS
-If applying for the current school year, families will be notified of enrollment decisions in the next 10 business days.
-If applying for the 2025/26 school year, please refer to the 2025/2026 School Year Enrollment Timeline above.
4- Fill Out Student Enrollment Packet
To accept an offer of enrollment, complete our online enrollment packet (sent to you via email with your enrollment offer) and submit an accompanying deposit. Receipt of this deposit is what secures your child’s enrollment.
5- Attend Child Visit Day (Pre-K Only)
After accepting an offer of enrollment, we will invite parents and children to come to campus for a visit together. During this time, children will have the opportunity to visit the classroom and meet with one of our Children’s House teachers. While children are in the classroom, parents will attend New Parent Welcome with our Admissions Coordinator.
6 – Attend New Child Phase In
All new families will participate in New Child Phase In. This takes place the week before Labor Day for children starting in the Fall.
On the first day of phase in, parents will attend with the child. On subsequent days, children will come to school on their own for just a few hours at a time. This helps the child acclimate to the environment more slowly before the rest of the community returns to school for the year. Mid-year phase in accommodations will be made on a case by case basis.
