Per Minnesota law, Oak Hill Montessori Community School’s enrollment process for each school year begins with a defined enrollment period. The open enrollment period for the ’24-’25 school will be Friday, January 5th, 9:00am – Friday, January 26th, 2024, 4:00pm. Notice of this enrollment period, and future enrollment periods, are made public through our website, virtual meetings, postings on public bulletin boards, press releases to area media outlets and communication to pre-school programs in the Shoreview area.
The enrollment capacity at each grade level is approved by the Board of Directors prior to the start of the Open Enrollment period. Visit the Open Enrollment page to learn how the process takes place, and the Application page to apply.
Once the Open Enrollment window has passed, Oak Hill Montessori Community School will review the number of applications to determine if a public lottery will be required for any level. Families may continue to apply for admission to Oak Hill Montessori Community School after the enrollment window has closed. If openings are available at the levels applied for, students will be admitted in the order the application is received. If capacity has been reached at any level, new applicants will be placed on a waiting list by date of the submitted application.
A note about Kindergarten Enrollment: Prospective students entering kindergarten must be five years of age on, or before, September 1st, 2024 to be eligible for the kindergarten year during the 2024-25 school year.
Legal Disclosures:
- Oak Hill Montessori Community School’s Kindergarten – 8th grade levels are publicly funded school programs and, as such, the enrollment process may not consider eligibility based on intellectual ability, aptitude, measurement of achievement, athletic ability or any other specific characteristic of children whose enrollment application is received in a timely manner.
- Oak Hill Montessori Community School may not, and will not, give preference to students of the tuition-based pre-school programming offered through the school. Any family participating in the tuition-based pre-school programming who wants their child to attend years Kindergarten – 8th Grade at Oak Hill Montessori Community School must participate in the enrollment process and, if necessary, lottery draw.
Enrollment Preference:
- As required in Minnesota Statutes, section 124E.11, Oak Hill Montessori Community School must offer preferential enrollment to siblings of students currently enrolled in the Upper School (grades K-8) and to a foster child of that pupil’s parents at Oak Hill Montessori Community School. Sibling preference does not apply to siblings of students enrolled in the Lower School.
- As allowed for in Minnesota Statutes, section 124E.11, Oak Hill Montessori Community School also offers preferential enrollment to children of school employees.
